Our sport is inherently dangerous, we aim to help minimize this danger to the best of our ability. The Kurt Caselli Foundation (TKCF) has a three-part mission that encompasses safety precautions for riders Before, During, and After a racing career. We’ve raised over 2.5 million dollars since 2013! Every year The Kurt Caselli Foundation Board of Directors builds and votes on an established budget to fund safety projects and scholarships.

Some of the ways we support our three-part mission is by providing supplies and resources to off-road race series and events such as GNCC Series, National Hare & Hound Series (NHHA), National Grand Prix Championship Series (formerly Big6 GP), SIDRA, Babes in the Dirt, DIRTastic and others.

At these events and races, you may see TKCF caution flags, youth racers with TKCF high-visibility bibs, and the new TKCF course marking system (curated with the help of NHHA and feedback from many top off-road racers, motorcycle clubs and promoters). The Course Marking Guide developed with help of NHHA to standardize markings throughout various race series. Our Race Course Safety Advisor, David Kamo, regularly attends NHHA races and works ahead of time to give advice to the motorcycle club promoters on how to properly mark their courses for future races. Among the safety supplies, you may also see TKCF high-visibility vests at TKCF supported events to help racers, participants, and spectators identify track crew and/or safety workers. At some select TKCF-supported events such as the KTM Adventure Rider Rally, we will have SPOT devices that we loan to participants during the event. At the GNCC series, you will see that the medical staff is aboard The Kurt Caselli Foundation vehicle, a Kawasaki Mule UTV, that is fully equipped with a special medical backboard & additional medical service devices, communications from PCI Race Radios, and lights from Baja Designs.

If you attend a National Hare & Hound Series or a TKCF event, you may be able to pick up one of our waterproof Emergency Contact stickers for your helmet from the registration booth (or at select events from The Kurt Caselli Foundation booth).

Fun Fact: Most people don’t know that we actively support the Supercross & Pro Motocross series with The Kurt Caselli Foundation’s Ultrasound machine; it is onboard the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit semi-truck which travels the circuit.
